I just visited the Webkinz site and you are able to log back in now. Upon logging in I did not notice any immediate changes and the Webkinz newspaper is still the same. Anyways, the Webkinz World maintenance and down time is fixed (hopefully). See you all in Webkinz World.

As you all know, Webkinz World is still down for maintenance and we have no idea when it will be coming back online. Much to my surprise, I have stumbled upon a backdoor link that will launch Webkinz World and allow you to log in.

Clicking that link will launch the login screen, but before you do take all this info into consideration.

First, you may experience problems launching that link with Firefox. Internet Explorer works best.

Second, this method is not endorsed by Ganz and may result in forfeiture of your account.

Third, the reason why Ganz doesn't want you to login with this method is because it interrupts their testing process. While they are ironing out the Webkinz glitches, logging in through the backdoor may cause more glitches and prolong the maintenance period.

Why am I telling you this information?

I don't believe in hiding this information. I have told you all the pros and cons of using this method and you can use it at your own risk.

This article is a couple of weeks old, but I am not sure if I have read it before or shared it with you guys before. Apparently, small retailers aren't happy with Ganz and are suing them for breach of contract among other things.

"From the “could it get any worse” department comes the news that toy-store owners are suing Ganz, Ganz may be returning the favor, Wal-Mart is buying Webkinz via a second-party distributor, and no one believes anyone anymore.

While specialty retailers have been threatening lawsuits for months, two have taken action. Via Station Enterprises, Inc., Hans and Patricia Masing, owners of online Brain Station and brick-and-mortar Tree Town Toys in Ann Arbor, Mich., are suing Ganz for $75,000 plus costs and legal fees. Tammy Bittinger of Shopping Therapy/Collector’s Club filed a small claims suit against “Ganz” on Sept. 5 for $1,500 in the District Court in Oklahoma County, Okla., as previously reported in TDmonthly Magazine."

The Webkinz Grey Arabian Horse has finally been activated in Webkinz World. The PSI is the Arabian Fortune Teller Lamp and the PSF is Alfalaffel. A nice thing about the Arabian Fortune Teller Lamp is that it is interactive and tells your fortune when you click on it.

Well, I was just about to log into Webkinz World and I get a lovely message from Ganz informing me that Webkinz are down for maintenance.

It says "We're working on making our website even better than before!". I wonder what they are adding that was so urgent to take the whole Webkinz World offline.

I was checking the newspaper today because I forgot to when I got home yesterday and saw that Chef Gazpacho had left a holiday stove recipe for us to try. This Webkinz recipe was a MushMellow Frosty and boy does it look tasty.

The Webkinz Duck has been well known for quite some time now, but the Pet Special Food and Pet Special Item were just rumors until now. Well, a Webkinz Duck has finally been activated and pictures confirm that the PSI is the Pond Bathtub and the PSF is Cheese and Quackers. The Webkinz Duck is the Easter 2008 pet from Ganz, so if you see one you better buy it because it will only be around for a short time. Pictures are below.
