This is some great news! Webkinz World has won About.com's 2010 Reader's Choice Award for Best Virtual World. I'm really surprised they beat out Club Penguin for the award, but they did and it is very exciting. Here is what About.com had to say:

After the most recent maintenance period, a new super bed was added. The Over The Rainbow Bed is now available in Webkinz World. Check out the picture below.

Ganz has officially retired the Webkinz Weimaraner as of February 26th, 2010. There will be no more Weimaraners shipped to stores, so the only stock that is left is whatever you find on store shelves. If you don't have one yet, then it would be wise to buy one.

Ganz has officially retired the Webkinz Love Lion, so it means that whatever stock retailers have left is all that will be available. There will be no more produced after they are all gone from store shelves. If you don't have a Love Lion yet, then you better hurry up and buy one.

A few great updates just hit Webkinz World today. You can participate in a new activity, buy a new theme for your room, and play around in Webkinz World much smoother due to bug fixes. Check out all the info below.

Ganz has announced that, in February, a slew of new exclusive items will be coming to Webkinz World. One of the new items is the Red Plasma Ball.

The Webkinz Rottweiler has been officially retired by Ganz. The Rottweiler debuted in July 2008 (wow, that seems so long ago), but unfortunately there comes a time in every Webkinz life when they can't be produced anymore. If you haven't purchased a Rottweiler yet, then you should make a trip to your local retailer. Once they are all sold out, they will never be produced again.

The annual Webkinz World winter celebration, Winterfest, will be kicking off this weekend. It will start January 23rd 2010 and go through January 29th 2010.

With maintenance complete in Webkinz World we now know what the new area is. It is called the KinzStyle Outlet and is run by the fashion guide PJ Collie. The new shop has clothing organized by category which makes for much easier shopping, and there are always specials going on. According to the announcement, a bunch of clothes have retired and will never make a return to the store.

Also added is the new clothing machine. It is basically like cooking, except it is for your clothes. If you put 3 clothing items together, and the recipe is correct, you will come out with a brand new piece of clothing. There are plenty of clothing recipes to discover.

Finally, two new room designs, Girls Rule! and Garden Yard, have been added to the Clubhouse. Head over there to check them out.
