Apparently Ganz has an event that takes place every wednesday at the eStore. It is called "Webkinz Wednesday" and it looks like exclusive pets and items will only be sold on this day.
This also explains the appearance and disappearance of the Webkinz Grey Wolf. Ganz explains the confusion in this letter:
